now that YouTube is pushing this mandatory G+ shit more aggressively.

Look Google, G+ sucks and is unnecessary when there are other sites that do it much better. Stop forcing people to use it!

Ive already begun using vimeo more than anytime in the past because nearly 90% of videos on youtube are not allowed to be played on a "mobile device" (cause the content owner doesnt allow it).... Vimeo solves that issue.

I have no idea what dailymotion is, but I can say no to Vimeo.

Vimeo is mainly for personal creative projects. If you try to upload "10 biggest accordion FAILS 2013 like share post comment subscribe" they'll shut you down pretty quick. They serve a very different purpose to youtube.

Also, mandatory G+? Just get a damn account and never use it. Google has more or less merged all of their sites into a single account, which is, get this, totally fine. I only ever use G+ for the hangouts feature, and somehow I've yet to burst into flames. I think you can handle it.

spamming to get more hits is prohibited on almost every site.

Vimeo's guidelines don't seem that unreasonable

The difference being that Vimeo is much more aggressive when it comes to removing content. I have never ONCE seen a video on vimeo that wasn't something created by the uploader. No fail compilations, no re-uploads of memes, no self-important Anonymous videos, etc...

That's OK because people can still upload videos of their cute cats. FLD, Smoking Tire, and Drive would also not be affected.

Videos are usually taken down only upon request of the copyright holder, as required by law.

Dailymotion is probably better though. They also have a partner program similar to YT, and they are based in France.

I usually only use vimeo for music that i cant play on YT. So usually they are nice enough to allow mobile use as the Music Nazis havent invaded vimeo with their strict legalities.
